Welcome to Hot Mess Yoga Club: Where we embrace our inner depths and together restore a felt sense of belonging and wholeness deep within our being. Through the power of meaningful and intentional community, we slow down, catch our breath together, and come to remember our true nature. By consistently showing up for ourselves and each other, we repair self-trust, reclaim self-love as our own, and in turn show up more fully and authentically in our lives.
We’ve forgotten our roots and the true depth and magic of our sacred wild nature. We’ve lived most of our lives imprisoned by the constraints of what the world around us has wanted for us. Because we had to in order to survive. Yet captivity's survival adaptations have left us hypervigilant, on edge, and not fully alive. It's time to release ourselves. Reset our self-care routine to align with what supports us in feeling most fully alive. Hot Mess Yoga Club offers intentionally curated, research-backed practices for holistic self-reclamation. Together we will build resilience and reclaim our lives wholly as our own in mind, body, and spirit.

Self-Care in Support of Our Emancipation
Within each of us lies a profound depth that often struggles to emerge, to bask in the light of day, to play freely. This inner essence remains silent, rarely demanding much, always ready to shrink, acquiesce, and maintain peace externally, while slowly withering within. Yet, in reality, our highest self retreats, akin to a flower bulb planted in the cold of fall. What seems like internal withering is, in fact, a silent preparation for a vibrant resurgence—months later, awakening into joy, possibility, growth, and blossoming. Your becoming. Your beautiful, whole self, unfurling, shining, and taking up the space you deserve.
But for now, we wait. We draw inward. We slow down, making space for stillness, rest, replenishment, and rejuvenation. It's a challenge to confront the suppressed thoughts and emotions we've been avoiding. Yet we show up and do it together, which is where the magic happens. We reclaim our sacred wild most fully when in meaningful community together.
In the Wild, We Reconnect
In the wild, we are rooted in the earth, connected to our ancestors, history, bodies, and the sacred ground we tread. We feel our feelings, express our rage, create art, movements, and life itself. In the wild, we reclaim our bodies as sacred temples and pleasure as a daily offering. We show up for ourselves and each other instinctively, embracing play, rest, laughter, and the relief found in connection.
Captivity Has Wounded Us
Captivity has left us with survival adaptations that keep us safe but at a cost. While we sense potential threats, we live on edge, hypervigilant, and often at the expense of feeling fully alive. It's time to release ourselves from the captivity that wounds us.
Self-Care, but Make it Feminist
Resetting your self-care routine shouldn't require a complete overhaul. But is it time to commit to transformative revolution from the inside out? Absolutely. Self-care, but make it feminist. We also offer classes online so you can continue to practice with us on the go and more easily fit self-care into your busy schedule. Classes offered are inherently trauma-informed, body positive, and mental health aware. Because self-care isn’t something that we should worry about feeling unnecessarily triggered by.

Our Story
Hot Mess Yoga Club was founded by Dr. Jillian Simpson, a feminist psychologist, professional coach, and yoga instructor with the intention of proactively caring for ourselves in such a way that we build emotional resilience, increase self-agency, and reduce/eliminate unnecessary suffering.
Dr. Simpson worked in clinical mental healthcare for over twenty years in a myriad of settings with a highly diverse range of humans. Though each human is unique and presented with a unique set of circumstances, Dr. Simpson began to notice similar themes that impacted many if not most of her clients.
They lacked spaces and places where they felt like they could authentically show up as their real selves outside of the therapy room.
They felt alone and isolated in their experiences yet many individual clients were on similar journeys. They just hadn’t met their people yet.
They struggled with staying present in their lives and in their bodies.
They struggled with the human experience of pain without numbing or wanting to escape.
They struggled to start and stick with self-care strategies like meditation, yoga, exercise, and meaningful social connection outside of sessions.
Everyone has issues. Every damn one of us. We cannot escape our humanness, however much we wish we could.
Through her years of experience, Dr. Simpson also observed these fundamental truths:

Through the creation of Hot Mess Yoga Club, Dr. Simpson sets out to revolutionize how we care for ourselves and each other. Making self-care accessible, effective, and consistently able to practice, we will create ripple effects of healing in the world that help us all develop increased resilience, flexibility, strength, and self-assurance. The world is so much better when we can each bring our authentic wholeness to the table and show up real.
